Isle of Man and Assisted Dying

I recently wrote and shared an article about how the Isle of Man may be potentially legalising assisted dying, please click HERE to read it.

It looks like this may be continuing to progress and will potentially become the first part of the British Isles to legalise assisted dying.

The Assisted Dying Bill sets out provisions which include:

a.      Those that have resided on the Isle of Man for at least 5 years;

b.      Relates to adults only;

c.      The person has a terminal illness with a life expectancy of less than 1 year; and

d.      Must be determined to end their life.

Let’s see what happens, but if this continues to progress as swiftly, we may see assisted dying on the Isle of Man by 2027.
